Some scars you stop thinking about. Others you plan your clothes around — a surgery scar on the stomach or chest, a burn on the arm, old self-harm scars on the wrist.

Skin camouflage adds finely matched, skin-toned pigment to scars that are paler than the skin around them, so they blend in instead of standing out.

Body scars we treat

  • Surgical scars — abdomen, chest, back, C-section, breast surgery
  • Burn scars that are flat and mature
  • Scars from accidents and injuries
  • Self-harm scars, treated discreetly and without judgement
  • Scar areas left pale after skin grafts

Self-harm scars

Many people come to us years after the scars were made, because they are ready to wear short sleeves again. You do not have to explain anything. The appointment is private, unhurried and about the result you want.

If scars are still recent, we would rather wait until they have fully matured — that gives you the best and longest-lasting result.

What camouflage can and cannot do

Camouflage changes colour, not shape. It works best on scars that are flat, smooth and paler than your skin. Raised, red or keloid scars are not suitable for pigment; a dermatologist can often help those first.

When your scar is ready

  • At least 12 months old
  • Paler than the surrounding skin — no longer red or pink
  • Flat and smooth to the touch
  • Not prone to keloid scarring

Suitability

  • Pale areas after skin grafts

Not the right fit when

  • Red, fresh or raised scars

Frequently asked

Honest answers

Will the scar disappear completely?

Usually not completely — the shape and texture of the scar remain. What changes is the colour contrast, which is what makes most pale scars stand out. Many people find that is enough to stop noticing it.

Is the appointment private?

Yes. You are treated in a private room, and you decide what you share. Nothing is photographed or shown without your consent.

Can you treat a large area?

Larger areas are possible but are split over more or longer sessions. We discuss a realistic plan at your assessment.

How do I care for it afterwards?

Keep it clean, avoid swimming, sauna and sun for about two weeks, and use sun protection on the area afterwards to keep the colour match stable.
